About Us

Welcome to the San Juan BOCES!

What is a BOCES?

Boards of Cooperative Educational Services - BOCES , are public organizations that were created by the Colorado Legislature in 1965 to provide shared educational programs and services to school districts. San Juan BOCES was created in 1973 and in 2010 merged with the Southwest BOCES. Our primary role is to support our member school districts as the Administrative Unit for Exceptional Student Services. Additionally we support a variety of grant funded collaborative initiatives. The San Juan BOCES has just over 80 exceptional employees working in schools across 5 counties!
